Author Topic: How can I appeal to my teachers?  (Read 1278 times)

Why do you go to a Christian school if you aren't a Christian?
he didn't say it was a christian school.

Why do you go to a Christian school if you aren't a Christian?

tons of people go to catholic schools even though they are not catholics, since people think that their children will get the best education there.

also this

he didn't say it was a christian school.

he didn't say it was a christian school.

it's a bit weird that all the teachers would be christian at a non-christian school
especially if they are going to judge him for not going to church

Go to the board about it.

Why do you go to a Christian school if you aren't a Christian?
Because the school is still pretty great otherwise, case in point; me.

my school isn't a religious school and all my teachers are christians.

Report them to the school board. They're corrupted by their religion.
Religion should be kept out of education entirely.

why would your teachers even know if you went to church or not?
maybe you are a disruptive richard who has to obnoxiously announce all the time about how you dont believe in a god.

you can appeal to them by shutting the forget up.

They randomly ask you in the middle of class.

why would your teachers even -need to- know if you went to church or not?
If they ask, you can probably get them in big doodoo.

so? its illegal to ask that.
he dosnt have to answer yes or no.

plus op didnt say that in the OP, it came up after he felt stupid and people were asking.

i dont believe the teachers asked him at all. i think he just sucks in school and is looking for an excuse.

And my dad got in a fight with a teacher because of that (not physically lol) and they've been hating me even more since then.
I've known teachers to be like this. They won't outright ask you, but they'll get it out of you anyway.
It would just take a teacher to make some mindless chat like:#

"What did you get up to on Sunday then, Josh".
"Oh, well we went to visit my grandparents for the day."
"Oh, so you didn't go to Church then."

And then they can hold it against you.

It depends on where he lives.
Regardless of which country you live in there are a lot of places where you will get people who have one belief.
If you happen to live in an area where religious belief is prevalent, then it's not difficult for your teachers to all be religious.

It's in the same way that in certain areas of countries one political idea/party is most prevalent, and because of that most of your teachers will belong to that party.
In my county the majority of people are Liberal Democrats. :/
And bloody History teachers are so loving annoying because for some reason they just can't keep their political opinions to themselves. Even in compulsary education where teachers legally are not allowed to in anyway enforce their political views upon you.

Sacrifice a goat in class in favor of the cosmic overseer.

That's what christians do, right

no we sacrifice kids named issac and then pusillanimous individual out

"What did you get up to on Sunday then, Josh".
"Oh, well we went to visit my grandparents for the day."
"Oh, so you didn't go to Church then."

that is the same thing. just as illegal. and none of this was going on for the OP

if you are positive that you are doing all your work, ask for extra credit, etc. then ask the teachers why you are getting the grades you are getting. if they refuse to answer or say something along the lines of "because you don't go to to church" etc. you can sue the school. at least i think.
uh no you can't

that is the same thing. just as illegal.
It could easily be asked in an innocent way.
Just enquiring into what the student did over the weekend.
You don't even have to mention the last line, and they could still draw conclusions and judge.

And if someone is just being genuinely interested in what you did over the weekend, whether friend or teacher, then it's harder to say Yes or No or say nothing at all.

Teachers shouldn't be judging at all on what your personal life is like, but they most certainly shouldn't be down-marking you upon it.
I would consider taking it to the principal/headmaster either way.
Even if he is christian himself he should have something to say about it as it is his job to, and he shouldn't let teachers pick on students because of their background.
And if he doesn't do anything then get in touch with the school board.

Make it perfectly clear how frustrated you are with it and mention how you've talked to the Principal/Headmaster and nothing has been done about it. They should most certainly discipline the Principal.

uh no you can't
You can report them to the school board though, who ought to discipline them.

At the most basic level, it is discrimination. Were he being discriminated against for being Black or Disabled or Muslim or his loveuality then there would be an uproar about it. It should be taken as seriously as any of those scenarios and so should all forms of discrimination, regardless of what it is over.
