Author Topic: Got Amnesia, anyone want to watch me play it tonight? (Read 1594 times)

You steal some orb
thus a "shadow" is trying to hunt you down
Alexander helps you to get rid of this "curse"
he brainwashes you torture many innocent people as a sort of ritual
you realize what you've done and make a potion so you forget everything
After this, you find a note from yourself telling you to kill Alexander
you travel through the castle yada yada yada
you meet Agrippa, a man who Alexander betrayed
you cut off his head (there's context to this, don't worry)
You find Alexander who's trying to summon a portal to his homeworld
you A. let him through. B. kill him. C. use Agrippa's head on the portal.

And that's pretty much a poorly written summary

(BTW it's not as scary as people say it is)

I dunno man, i've seen enough youtube videos to know that it scares the pants off people. Unless they're all pussies, which i highly doubt.

Well, that was more of my honest opinion. I just can't take the enemies seriously in that game, it's fun to forget around with them

I'll play it alone in a dark room at some point, I might livestream it too, Might be fun.

But I haven't even gotten past the opening of Cry of Fear

Amnesia is an amazing game, don't get me wrong, it does a great job in immersing you in the story and environment. I don't think it's scary, but thrilling. I like the rush of having an enemy chasing after you while you can't do stuff about it. However, after the part where the Kaenerk chased you, I was too nervous to set foot in water again. I find those creatures to actually be the most frightening in the game, because they're invisible and you are encouraged to use your imagination to fill the gap. However, I like messing around with the other enemies. It's fun to build a barricade in a room, lure a monster in there, and watch him try to tear it to shreds. It's fun to throw random furniture at the enemies and watch them stagger. I don't like games in which some random stuff comes out of thin air and spooks you, it's just no fun. Amnesia hardly ever does that, so it's more enjoyable to play than other horror games IMO

I can't even play amnesia. I do not do scary, one sound of footsteps scares me to the point where I quit.
