Author Topic: WarZ - a Minecraft server I'm working on  (Read 2566 times)

We have a mob control plugin - spiders will be off, creepers will be medium (and high, on random Self Delete bomber events), skeletons will be minimal (besides sniper events), and zombies are always on high. Spawners will work normally in dungeons, and we haven't quite worked out how many animals we're going to set, because you can always buy meat in the store.
sounds good.

<you guys have any specific launch date on the server?

I can also help build some of the cities and such if you guys accept/need help :)

Texture packs I recommend:
The End is Extremely Nigh.
Battered old stuff.
DERELICT.

Also, I would join instantly, I don't think anything like this had been done before. (Not by a blocklander anyways.)

But I can't defend my stuff when I'm offline, which'll be fairly often as I play on other servers and play other games. Y:

*shrug* that's the challenge.

that's pretty much the point. That means that you need a team, the bigger your team, the higher the chance you have of people being able to stay on around the clock to guard your stuff.

Or if you go the lone-wolf approach, that's why it's challenging.

Also Daedalus, I suggest you use one of those texture packs as well and base the server build around that. Vanilla minecraft textures just aren't good for the atmosphere you're trying to create IMO.

Wait, wat?
We're just building the base :o people can use whatever packs they want, can't they?

Unless you use spout together with a mod to push the TP, yes.

Didn't you host a faction Server?
This is going to be good!

Is there going to be map borders? If not, I don't think leaving will be a problem, as long as you don't incorporate dynmap

Yeah, I'm not gonna use Spout.

No, I've never hosted a server. I've been a mod on lots, though.

Uhhh, I think I might cap the map at ~20000 blocks so people can actually fight, but yeah I won't have dynmap

You mean like, map size being 20000x20000?
That's awfully large, unless you plan on having a hundred or so regulars.

I meant as the final cap. We plan on having ~50 or so regulars eventually, if we can.
To start off, I'll cap the map at a lower size. Maybe I'll scale up to around 10000x10000 eventually.

I typically go really loving far.
really far
like, in 5 digits.
If there are more people like me, maybe you could keep it at 20k constant? I hope I'm not asking too much.
