Also, I kind of want someone to play this with to see how quickly I get destroyed.

Well take like a man to get better in this game is first try to be different Civs so you can in prove your strategy and don't put mods unless it's graphics or maps.

The AI in most Civilization games does not actually need money for anything, and their income is almost completely pointless. At least, that was the case for Civilization 1-4.
