building terrain isn't difficult without cubes
Half of the people want terrain and interiors, but the other half wants amazing shaders.
it's not divided in half like that
the only reason for keeping terrain would be for vehicles, but vehicle collision sucks anyway, regardless of what you're driving on

plus, kompressor or whoever said that getting rid of terrain will make development easier, so maybe someone can actually get to fixing vehicle collision
although that problem may be a torque problem, but idk

Building large amounts without duplication is. It's tedious and time consuming, and sometimes it just comes out all wrong.

it wouldn't be any easier than it is now
maybe it would be simpler, but building with some available bricks really isn't much different than with cubes

minecraft
blockland
they look about the same to me, if blockland's not better. so saying that it looks worse isn't acceptable either
terrain this way has the potential to look way better

I understand that that would still be possible with cubes, but I don't really think it's worth the trouble of changing the way the bricks work already

People thought trees were hard as stuff to build untill people experimented and began finding new ways to make better trees. Terrain never really had the same chance because we just use maps.

Basically, things are easier once you've figured out how they work.

The new v21 update has Pros and cons, but they level each other out.
Level each other out? The pros heavily outweigh the cons.

I think the whole idea of getting rid of terrain is a great one. It will make it so we have to make our own terrain. with bricks. Isn't that the whole point of the game: to build?

oh god, another one of these topics

By the by, is the saving bricks stuff going to be changed? I dislike how someone's bricks become yours if it's on your baseplate and you save/reload it.

This makes terrain builds impossible and makes any attempt at mini empires laughable

Surprisingly large amount of replies in short amount of time...
That's because you posted it in OT. /Eyeroll

If I still played blockland I would probably be against v21 simply because of fort wars maps. That was all I played and I don't see it working well without terrains.

You are wrong. Terrain maps aren't just good for driving a vehicle around like an idiot. They are good for many things, another example would be for RPs, and a large amount of other things.

Yeah, a very bad looking RP, with basic (but nice) looking bricks stuck onto N64 very sharp and cruddy looking terrains.

Also kompressor answered directly about vehicle collision. Said that removal of terrain and interiors will make it much easier to improve.

with the new launcher which should allow updates to be released much faster, and the removal of two complicating bits of code, there will be new updates every week i can't wait!!! better fixes within a month of release this sounds amazing!

Like I said before, the main problem with block terrain is that no one has had the need to make an addon or find a method that creates efficient block terrain that doesn't look like stuff. Necessity is the mother of invention.
