Author Topic: Computer problem..  (Read 945 times)

Well this morning my moms computer just started to randomly act up by taking and randomly shutting down when she would try to play on it. After many times of it doing that my mom quit and then when I tried to turn it on it had no power to it and when I would unplug then replug the cored it would make a staticy sound.

Suggestions? Its a Dell Presicion 650

I had an ERGO laptop, a pile of crap, that did something a bit like that. It was to do with the fan breaking, got replaced on the warranty

mine can barely play blockland in mine, but atleast it doesn't crash :cookieMonster:

You should just buy a new computer.
My old computer got fried and it wouldn't start up at all (don't ask why, I really don't know)
I had wanted a new computer anyways.

So since I didn't have a computer my parents saved up and bought me an even better one.
Dunno if your parents will do that but it might be cool if they do.

Build a new one.

Cheaper and more exiting.

This one is a built one, and yes they are cheaper.

With what money? You are forgetting that I can barely afford anything.
Hence why we live at my grandma's.

It done this before, I sure hope it didn't suddenly die..
If it did randomly die then oh man... Good Bye minecraft world :c

yeeeah you're sounding exactly like a typical consumer when it comes to these things
unless you heard a loud pop you should be fine

There was no loud pop noise.

Yea it isn't showing any form of life at all..

I know that is what turns it on..
What makes you think I didn't know that?

Alright now it is just siting there after being dusted out and it should be working again within a few hours.

the only thing you can do to fix it is to buy a new power supply
dusting the inside only helps with the cooling

This.
Also, goodbye minecraft world? Your minecraft world is saved on the hard drive, and if you knew anything about computers like you say you do, you'd know that.
And, you say it's a built computer, but then you say it's a Dell Precision?...

Depending on how old it is you may be able to contact HP for a free replacement part.

I did that when my power supply died late last year and was returned a shiny new and more powerful version :D
