In that case the only other reason I can think of would be system requirements. Source is pretty outdated and they are waiting for something that would aid the production of the game.

Half-Life 3 has probably been under development for 4 - 5 years for a good reason.

Valve has mentioned that HL3 will close up the entire story. It's probably a really, really big game.

They know how big of a demand for it is out there.


Don't worry. HL3 will be worth the weight wait.

I don't even want Half-Life 3 anymore, it has reached a certain point. They have crossed the line. Waiting for half life three went from a tease to now a stupid loving cause.
