In the year 1954 the United States added "under god" in the Pledge of Allegiance. Not everyone believes in God then why should it be added to the Pledge of Allegiance? I'm just nit picking but I was wondering what you guy's think.

im atheist, but i really don't think it's a big deal.

People don't care now, and people will care if it gets removed. So why bother?

Most people would say, "No, because a lot of people believe in god".

But yeah because there is no evidence of god, I think it should be removed.

Never been a big deal to anyone with half a brain.

I'm pretty sure no one would notice if you didn't say under god, but its really not a big deal

God has two eyes, and I have two eyes.
Coincidence? I think not!

Why change something that no one pays attention to and just sing it?

But who was mouth?

US has a policy of freedom of religion, "under god" could offend some people who are strongly atheist so yes they should remove it

government and religion should not intersect

Seems disrespectful to all the other religious Christians ignore. I bet if it said "under Allah" people would want it changed in a hurry.

Okay, let's think about this for a bit. You know those epic song instrumentals? If a ton of atheists loved the instrumentals, and then listened to a song with vocals over the instrumentals that slightly implied the existence of God, would all atheists completely hate the song? Or would they still think it's okay?

A smart group of them wouldn't care.
Another group would complain.

Would go the same for religious groups too. I just see Atheists complain about this stuff the most.
