I'm an atheist, and while it is very nitpicky, I think the constitution should be upheld on every area. However, there are more important issues to deal with than changing the pledge. This isn't a sign of random theonomy and religion-goverened state, as long as we don't ever elect Rick Santorum. We might as well keep it and avoid enraging millions of people.

I don't know what this is called, but there's also some sort of "symbolic" governmental theism reason, I can't find the wikipedia article so I don't think I know enough to voice anything on that.teenage boy (?) voicing opinion =/= corrupt politician
Both political parties aren't pretty much the same thing. George Bush allowed the CIA to wire tap people with a warrant, Obama wants everyone to have an indentifcation chip. The Republicans want Government control of the Internet. In California the liberals whine about how the second amendment is just so you have a militia, but they made Militias illegal and they are trying to make so only cops and military have guns. The Republicans want to ban "satanic" heavy metal music.

I'm Anti-Government because those sons of bitches took our house and everything..
Unlivable my ass..
You built it with scotch tape and pizza boxes, of course the government didn't let you live in it.

...Aren't the National Guard practically the state militias?

Obama wants everyone to have an indentifcation chip.
Uh

Can you back that statement up?

Those are government controlled. Who you think they answer to? I'm talking about a bunch of civilians ready to fight to protect themselves from a would be oppressive government or fight against an invading army.

Apparently you can't. That says your rumor is false.
I just realized that, sorry

i give up lol
you guys win

yes i'm a teen.
and a boy.
Yes say it however you want, but I think the official one should not have "under god" in it, because of separation of Church and State like Jacob/Lee said.
Isn't it a bit petty? If we remove it, christians rage across the country, stupid atheists provoke them then circlejerk, and in the end we've only removed two words from a pledge. There are more pressing problems than this.

Yeah, the amount of control they have is overwhelming. Chances are I'm going to leave this country in a few years, the government is easing slowly into a police state. It's loving bullstuff. The moment you take away freedoms for "security" is the moment we lose our rights. It seems both parties don't differ in any way, the excuses they have for pushing these controlling laws are paper thin yet we can't really do stuff until reelection, and typically due to lobbying and whatnot the congressman that does what corporations want gets all the money. Yes this constitution needs some god damn changes for sure. Hopefully there will be a revolution or something.
libertarians ftw
The problem with the two party system is that it's very unlikely for a smart candidate from another party to be heard..
