I don't even say the pledge, I don't feel right pledging allegiance to something I'd quickly leave behind if given the chance.

Why the forget would it be changed?
Because one word offends you?
Too bad.
You can say it however you want.
Don't say "Under God" if you don't want to.
Simple as that.
It's not that, it's that our very law of the land, the thing our nation is built off of, says there will be a separation of church and state. With the phrase "under God" in our PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE we go straight against what the Constitution has said as long as it existed.

I understand that.
Like I said, say it however you want.
It neither picks my pocket or breaks my leg.

why do i even bother

are you a terrorist?

I'm an atheist, and while it is very nitpicky, I think the constitution should be upheld on every area. However, there are more important issues to deal with than changing the pledge. This isn't a sign of random theonomy and religion-goverened state, as long as we don't ever elect Rick Santorum. We might as well keep it and avoid enraging millions of people.

I don't know what this is called, but there's also some sort of "symbolic" governmental theism reason, I can't find the wikipedia article so I don't think I know enough to voice anything on that.

Yes say it however you want, but I think the official one should not have "under god" in it, because of separation of Church and State like Jacob/Lee said.
