Author Topic: Low name visible playertype.  (Read 506 times)

So with Slayer you could adjust the visibility distance for all playertypes but what if you only wanted a select few classes to have low visibility and others to have normal?

So my idea is that this playertype will have a forced low visibility setting that doesn't obey Slayer's server rule. The purpose of this is that all other playertypes will maintain normal visibility while this one specific playertype will have lower visibility.

So instead of everyone in the server to have the lowest name setting, only a select few people will have lowered visibility names basically. Sort of similar to Uncharted 3 or Max Payne 3.

Why would you want low name visibility distance instead of simply no name at all?

the shape name?

the part above the players head?

you, get on steam

it could have the effect like on Call of Duty or Battlefield (generally almost any FPS with multiplayer)
you dont see someone's name until you look at them and you're very close
you'll see it looking directly at them or not in this case but it will still be cool to find hiding enemies

Why would you want low name visibility distance instead of simply no name at all?

Because Badspot made it impossible to actually hide/remove the name. You can only reduce the name distance to a range of 2.

Just create the player object yourself, then.

I would had suggested that if it were still possible in V8.

It.. is?

Port, this is impossible without manually creating the player.
