Author Topic: Blood - Shoot zombies, ugly cultists and other forgeted up stuff.  (Read 4305 times)

Remember that epic game from 1997? That one with all the blood? You probably don't, it's not that popular, especially among overprotective parents seeing as it's rated M/18/17 etc. for excessive gore and moderate horror. I just bought it from GoG today (because I lost my original copy) and now it has a bunch of expansion stuff since I last played and it is AWESOME.

Picking up keys and shooting zombies with overpowered flare pistols

Burning the stuff out of someone in multiplayer. Poor Caleb :(

What Caleb's face looks like under that hat

The final boss. Holy loving stuff that is forgeted up

Buy the game and its expansion packs for $5.99 here:
http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/one_unit_whole_blood
Or try the shareware version here:
http://www.dosgamesarchive.com/download/blood/

NOTE: If you buy the game from gog.com, it will work 100% of the time on your OS, however you need DOSBox or Windows XP or lower with MSDoS on it to run.
NOTENOTE: The cheat codes listed on dosgamesarchive.com for the shareware version are different to the cheat codes for the full game, google those if you REALLY need them.

Less blood than expected.

Zombie in the second picture: "What in the hell do you expect to do with that?"

i remember this game.

i got it on GOG.com

Caleb: Lodge a flare into your chest and set you on fire, maybe. Or launch a starburst of explosive fireworks.

Basically, the flare gun is an incredibly OP starting pistol for what it does to weaker enemies.

Less blood than expected.

It's from 1997, it can't render the same amount of blood as say, TF2 or Garry's Mod (loldismembermentmodsucks) but it does have quite a lot of it.

Jesus! i saw a decapitated head and looked at it... Its eyes opened.
I got to a part where a grey gargoyle is shooting blue balls at me. is that a boss or something?

Reminds me of They Hunger.

The zombies in the game are based off zombies in films, but not that one. The Axe zombie you see in the second picture is based off George R. Romero's Night of the Living Dead and the Bloated Butcher/Fat zombie is based off Uncle Frank in the 90's remake of Night of the Living Dead.

Axe Zombie

Bloated Butcher/Fat zombie

Horribly rendered ending to the fourth but not final if you have expansion chapter.

Was it in a small arena where you go up on a small tower where there is a corpse then Caleb says "Show yourself!" then a Stone Gargoyle attacks you?

I really want monolith to make a new blood

I know its not based of They Hunger but it gives me the feeling of it.

Plus some of the sounds remind me of They Hunger.

They would but they sold the rights of Blood to Atari, who aren't going to make it and if they did, they couldn't because of legal rights. They had announcements of possible revival, but no avail.

Did he also happen to look like this?

Is there an enemy that throws bricks at you in this game? Because I remember a very gory PC game my dad played when I was like three and it always stuck with me that there is an enemy that throws bricks.

Yup, That him alright. I skipped him after i realised i cant kill it
