they don't deny the possibility of a god, they encourage idea and add even more gods!
saying that your god is real is different than saying a "god" is possible. worshipping the god of tree bark is different than believing a god, though might not be realized by humans, can exist.

lol Christians trying to force their religion on people

NOT AGAIN!
If I may quote myself:
WAY TOO MANY RELIGEON WARS.
THIS IS NOT THE TIME AND PLACE FOR RELIGEOUS DISCUSSION.
MOST PEOPLE HERE ON BOTH SIDES AREN'T THEOLOGISTS AND SCIENTISTS AND DONT KNOW KNOW THE BEST ARGUMENTS FOR BOTH SIDES.
Do us all a favor and leave the disucussion up to them.
State both sides and accept each others' opinions.  You're not gonna convert anyone over a" YOU'RE STUPID HERE IS WHY IM RIGHT ITS SOOO OBVOUSE MAAAN."
It's very irritating.
EVERYONE HERE DOESN'T KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT THEIR BELIEF AND THE TRUE REASON ON WHY ITS TRUE.
LEAVE THE DISSCUSSION TO THE PROS LEST THERE BE A GREAT FLAMEWAR UPON THE FORUMS CONSISTING OF SEMI-TRUE-FALSE CONJECTURE.

humans are more intellectual than that. im not saying that believing in god makes you smart (not sure how that works anyway), but when you refuse to believe something unless you can detect it with the senses, you're pretty much just a robot imo

Yeah, giving something the benefit of the doubt is intellectual, even though religion the most hole ridden sham in the history of humans.

It works both ways. To me, a sign of intellect is to challenge and debate. Religious people want none of that. They push against intelligent discussion with gems like the OP. So no, in this case, there is no "smart" way to believe in religion.

Religion really is a case of heart over head.

i would take heart over head any day. i don't know about you.

i'd rather be a loving moron than a smartass scrooge :cookieMonster:

sometimes i wish people would stop being so critical of each other and hateful toward other people and just leave them alone. some athiests constantly talk about how christians try to force their religion on other people, yet they try to force their disbelief on people as well when they say things like "keep your religion to yourself". i dont care for the hypocrisy. its BS
How is asking someone to keep something to themselves the same as saying something like "people please accept god into your life"? Obviously, both atheists and religious people have their faults, you can't speak for one entire population though.

you're trying to force the other side to conform to something.

Oh and I think that Planr and Sheath are exemplifying the debate as a whole globally.

saying that your god is real is different than saying a "god" is possible. worshipping the god of tree bark is different than believing a god, though might not be realized by humans, can exist.

Got it.

Anyways, just wanted to say that this was a healthy debate and I had fun. I have nothing against any person who worships any kind of religion as long as they don't impose them on people who do not wish to be welcome to the idea. I see the world more amazing and magnificent as an atheist, as I don't think about every astonishing thing that happens in the universe as GOD DID IT, and instead I see it through scientific marvel and wonder. I feel like I have more freedom when there isn't the thought of some omnipotent and omniscient being breathing down my neck everywhere I go. That's just my two cents

Honestly, why are kids so forgeted when it comes to religion?

How God tortures will be up to him.

sounds like a loving god already!
believe in me or be tortured. you might be slightly less tortured than others (how lucky of you), but there are no exceptions

Cyber, the problem is bias we're raised with.
When we grow up, we expand a little in our independent thinking.

If God does exist, I think he has the mercy to grant everybody access to Heaven.
It's humans that invented all this stuff about Hell.

Does anyone ever listen to the voice of reason here?
This argument was pointless.
I bet $10 not one belief was changed today.

Most arguments are pointless, it's fun to argue and see how other people view the world.
