Why does MC have more players than BL when we were made first?

Blockland is a hundred times more flexible that minecraft, and if you haven't  noticed, most of minecraft's community is handicapped. I'm glad we don't have minecraft's playerbase, or we'd see a lot of gray boxes filled with guns.

the fact that BL has less players is a good thing.
the community sucks here, but at the same time the community is also awesome.
that's what i love about the blockland community, just a small bunch of players.
if we'd have as many players as minecraft, it wouldn't be like this. i'm pretty sure of that.

That makes no sense at all, Blockland has a lot of things going for it. Events system, easy integration of mods, multiplayer, sandbox game, graphics options to make it playable on nearly any computer, and an active community and devs that constantly update the game with new stuff.

Minecraft has these things, too.

MC is a joke, I've been playing it since a few days before Survival Test and Multiplayer were released, it looked like a promising game but then Valve overhyped it to the point everybody started shoving the game up their asses screaming "MIIIIIINECRAAAAFT! MIIIIINEEEECRAAAAAAFFFTTTT!!!!!!!!".
After that notch realized he didn't need to add anything new to the game after that happened as he had the money to retire early.

I have trouble running it on a 2004 Apple laptop, while I can run BL just fine., and an active community and devs that constantly update the game with new stuff I'll give you that.

I had a four-core i7 6GB RAM laptop and I had trouble running Minecraft, even with Optifine at the lowest graphics levels. I love the game and used to host it all the time to play with my friends but Blockland just appeals to me more.

And saying Blockland should have more people just because it's been out longer is like saying you'll die before someone else just because you're older.

I underlined the things that Minecraft had, and yes, Minecraft has nice multiplayer, you've just gotta find the right server to play on.

the main reason that minecraft got popular is let's plays. there is literally no other reason the game is popular. the fact that surviving and exploring in a sandbox environment makes for good let's play material is the only reason minecraft got popular. the reason blockland isn't as popular as it should be is because A: we have a community that is not tolerant of little douchebags and B: it wasn't marketed nearly enough. The banner ads did get people, me being one of them, but other than that there is really no word getting out that this game actually exists. what i think would get a lot more people buying the game was if more people started making a lot of blockland youtube videos.

I think this is true, if someone would make a nice Blockland let's play series, maybe the game's popularity would increase.
