which, as far as you know, is one program
I've got like 4 or 5 actually lol. I only use 2 for the most part. The rest only come in handy if I actually get hit with something and need to do some work.

that's not the point here though

Being a Mac user I wouldn't reinstall any programs because Mac is nice enough to keep them for me.

I would just boot into my second hard-drive which still has a fully-functional copy of Windows 7 on it. I never formatted it for a rasin. c:

No, it's having to reinstall your OS so yes you would have to reinstall your programs.

Don't tell me you're at this Mac supremacy thing again.

I'm not even on a "Mac supremacy" thing lol, when you do a fresh install of operating system files in Mac OS X Lion it keeps all your programs, that's the way you reinstall Mac, sorry that it's so good lol.

if that's the case, then what's the point in installing a fresh copy?

Not sure, I can't think of a reason to other than broken OS files or something.

is it mandatory? like, is there an option for it?
because if you're reinstalling to just, idk, clean up your computer, that'd really defeat the purpose

If you reinstall via the recovery partition it will just replace your operating system files, there are no options to change this. If your recovery partition is broken and you have a newish Mac, it will install fresh from the internet using the built in firmware - pretty cool.

In order:

Drivers > Firefox > misc. > Blockland

Blockland is last because I always get to downloading it last!

My usual process, in order...

> Reinstall
> Install drivers
> Install Chrome
> Install Blockland
> Install Steam
> Install Game Maker
> Install Skype
> Install Fraps
> Install animation program, and any creative graphic tools I might need
> Install OpenOffice

Following that, I'd casually add games that I wanted to play like GTA IV (non-Steam) and maybe The Sims 1. Game Booster would end up installed eventually.

Basically it. I usually wait to add anything else only if I need it, cutting any fat from the previous install can be useful. I have bloatware.

He is stating a fact about the operating system. Any sense of supremacy is all in your head. :I
