My usual process, in order...
> Reinstall
> Install drivers
> Install Chrome
> Install Blockland
> Install Steam
> Install Game Maker
> Install Skype
> Install Fraps
> Install animation program, and any creative graphic tools I might need
> Install OpenOffice
Following that, I'd casually add games that I wanted to play like GTA IV (non-Steam) and maybe The Sims 1. Game Booster would end up installed eventually.
Basically it. I usually wait to add anything else only if I need it, cutting any fat from the previous install can be useful. I have bloatware.
