Author Topic: save Lego Universe  (Read 3819 times)

someone should crack it open and fix all the problems with the game and send it back to lego and say "this is how it's done"

the game was perfect. the problem as i seen it was it was targeted to children ONLY. not really the greatest market to pander to when you are trying to sustain an MMORPG. not many kinds subscribe for very long, if at all.

LU sucked, I'm glad the game ended they had strict rules over what you say or what you build, I'm glad it went down, and the pay per month stuff was equal bullstuff to Roblox's Builders club.
But with builders club it isn't required to continue with the game.

I liked the game, I'm hoping on a private server eventually.

^I was gonna talk about that, but then I didn't. because piracy.

It's not like they're going to lose money from something that no longer exists.

So, the facts simply are that even if we wanted to bring LEGO Universe back, we couldn't. There are no staff to design it, develop it or maintain it. The project has ended.

Private servers for games that aren't supported by the creators isn't piracy.

I don't see why Lego just didn't sell it to some private devolpers.

That was my thought as well, but I'm pretty sure it's not under "Stuff that is ok"

What can I say, the "but you better be sure" part scared me.

Private servers for games that aren't supported by the creators isn't piracy.
why don't you explain what piracy is and isn't then, since you seem to know so well.

You can't own a network protocol

lego universe was a money guzzling peice of stuff
good riddance

I don't see why Lego just didn't sell it to some private devolpers.

do i hear $4? $4? $10?

do i hear $4? $4? $10?
"$20? Better buy a copy of Blockland then! Hahaha!"

Anyhow, it had so much potential but it turned our to be far worse then it could've been.
Let's hope they really learned from their mistakes. :)

I guess I'm not gonna own one then? woop

so is it abandonware or somesuch now?
No, it just has no funding or staff.  To put it simply, let's say there's a plot of land in the middle of town and there's an old abandoned bar on that plot of land.  Abandonware would be like if the plot of land has no owner because they died or for whatever certain circumstances (in most cases, a game's license ends), however, in this case, Lego Universe is simply just an abandoned bar, but someone still owns it.
