i have windows xp :(
Nothing wrong with it but I'd suggest upgrading to 7 soon.

I may add that our school uses Windows XP, an operating system which is 11 years out of date.

DON'T YOU DARE TO SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT WINDOWS XP. She is the hope of nowadays operating systems ,she is tallented - she can code, browse the internet and most important of all she writes her scripts herself. She is not some kind of slut from street, she graduated IT school(for which she paid by her own cash) and she is worth respect. However , I cry when I turn on G4 and see stuff like windows 8 and ubuntu . Jealous for my dad for such an amazing generation of OS's.At least my dad taught me what is good.

Look, there is nothing wrong with Windows XP, but it is becoming outdated. Current games and software hardly support it anymore.

most schools upgraded to xp in the 90's but they don't have enough money or time to upgrade to 7 or dare i say it vista

my school uses macbook airs?

XP is actually the most used OS on the planet, as of about two months ago.

I mention a time frame because I don't know if it still is, I think it is.

I still use it on most of my computers.

It's frustrating to have to be held back because other people are worse at something then me-

This seems to be a big problem in American Schools.
"No child left behind"

If I was in your position, I would go to the principal of the school and complain about how sub par my education was. The administration for schools everywhere are so used to children not taking any interest in education that they actually are hilariously at a loss for words when you complain you're not getting a good one.

The thing is, the way IT is taught is being changed in September. Not sure if it will still be stuff or not.

I'm learning Java next year. My school also has a badass robotics team.

I think our IT is gonna be fun. stuff sux for you bro. I'd suggest playing with it at home.

That's good at the least, I'd start looking for an outside course. It'd probably ask for payments, so consider if it's something you want to do.

Sounds net

My school is like the opposite of yours. In my DMD class we made a comic character, 3d design, a game, and animation.

Theres a summer course for making a fps game in 3d but my friends said it was a 100$, theres also programming courses where my friends made a minecraft sort of game.

My schools never had a computer class at all.  Closest I got was typing class in middle school.

So... feel lucky.
