Your making me want to start a spaceRP server in gmod.

I would join you but the latest update for Gmod screwed up the map and Lifesupport so its not much fun.

BL version will be much better :)

It had better be. The G-Mod map was pretty impressive. I'm counting on you to make my day!

Uhoh...now I'm under pressure. :(

This map is much larger than Space build mode and takes much longer to reach planets so its realistic in some ways but not others.

More pics coming soon.

BTW, NitramTJ is being really helpful with triggers and such so mucho-grande credit to him :)

Heres a pic showing he solar system so far. And yes...I do realise the earth texture is the wrong way round.

This looks like it's shaping up to be great, RW! Just take your time, don't rush and release something shoddy.

This is drop dead gorgeous.

But exactly how do we get from planet to planet??? We can't make our own space ship, it would suck to have to fly a plane there... W/e

beautiful map any who!!!

Noted.

I've thought about this alot. The distance between planets is huge so its not like you just jet there...well you could since its zero G but it would take forever and you would have very little chance of hitting the planet. Vehicles function as normal in space so unfortunately, for realism you will have to disable most vehicles when hosting server. I am working on some vehicles specially for the map but what they are and how they work is a secret for now. >:)

Gotcha, as long as none of them use the goddamned magic carpet script.

Pretty kewl!

How big are these planets, like size to build on?

Oh no...

Ive run across a problem...

What if I want to make a space station, How am I to go about making floating blocks?

OH NO!

well there goes my plan for vehicles... :(

Epic, I believe (but havent tested) that earth has a bigger build space than the bedroom. The moon is much smaller but is proably big enough for a 64x64 atleast.

There will be floating miniplatforms for making your own stations. Not too large but enough. You can also build on the moons and such.

Are there any hills or lakes on the planets?

You should release the standard map with the high-detailed models, and offer the low detail ones as a replacement pack.

Also, you should put a transparent sphere the color of the atmosphere of the planet around each planet so it looks like they've got an atmosphere. For example, the Earth would have a transparent blue sphere around it, Mars would have a transparent orange atmosphere, etc. Mercury or the moon would have no atmosphere. You could keep these sphere's fairly low detail.

Oh, I'll get to work on your asteroids, don't think I forgot about them. I've just had some other stuff to do.

Are you still having problems with your gravity zones?

Any chance of putting up a server with the current build?

The size of the planets sound amazing. It's nice to know that you're basing this on reality, with Jupiter being the largest, then Saturn, and so on. You should also make the atmospheres and surfaces of the planets based on real life as well. This means that a gas giant such as Jupiter would have a large atmosphere and a (possibly) liquid surface. Not that it's confirmed that it has a liquid surface... but you know what I'm talking about.

Is it going to include Pluto?

Looking pruddy sweet, if you wanted to make a planet liquidy, you could give it certain gravity fields so you can go through the planet, but very slowly.
also, plan to make any of jupiters/otherplanetshere moons? not all of them because that would become very cluttered and would be hard to do. But it would be nice to see a few of jupiters at least.
Im not sure if this is easy/possible, but you could get rid of the premade sun, and give the sun in your map a huge light. Then if we went behind the sun it would still be bright.
