Most likely because Source Filmmaker uses resources from the game, and the current model is more detailed than the one they used a few years ago.
That looks the same, the second one just has color correction.

There's a slideshow on Valve's website that explains that it's actually the texturing. They used alot of new lighting textures and stuff. It's pretty cool.

Well that's odd, most of the time I can't tell what team a Heavy is on, especially when he's on fire
