Just ordered a Kinect for Garry's Mod and moreso for SFM. Luckily I'm eligible for a student license on Autodesk Motion builder and Maya, and I can use Breckel Kinect for the mo-cap. :D

This Portal 2 music video is absolutely AMAZING. Watch it NOW! http://youtu.be/TVECSYevEz0  (via @zachariahmessia)

So after nine hours of tutorials and kinect and programs, I finally got it to work.

Woo!

In the assets for the MTT videos, is the dialogue separate from the soundtrack and other audio?

yes(?)

Some of them have the audio mixed into one audio file as well as the separate audio clips, like if you look through the tf_movies/sound directory, you'll find audio clips of just the Engineer, Soldier or Heavy talking, the Engineer's guitar, the guy that screams "My arm!" in Meet the Engineer, etc

Redone the OP to have more tutorials, did some reordering and removing of stuff and added in news of MaxOfS2D uploading stuff from the closed SFM beta and a link to the Open Source Filmmaker Steam group

I'm still waiting for Left 4 Dead 2 support. That's going to be amazing to make videos with.

There's a tutorial in the OP that shows how to get other Source games into SFM and a fix for L4D2 stuff in case of crashing

Yeah but I mean being able to make L4D2 videos just like how people make TF2 videos. Doing it the way Valve made the L4D Introduction.
