Author Topic: Will GTA4 work on my computer?  (Read 1503 times)

I know GTA4 doesn't work on Windows 7 or something, but then I heard that you can change the properties to Windows XP SP3. I am very confused.

My Computer's Specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
Intel Core i3-2100 CPU 3.10GHz
4 GB RAM

Assuming your graphics card is Intel integrated, you can't.

GTAIV works on windows 7
Assuming your graphics card is Intel integrated, you can't.
why would you assume that?

Running the game in a window helps a ton. There are plenty of ways to tweak the files to make the game run marginally better. The game has ridiculously bad optimization and requires a great computer to run well in fullscreen. I have Win7 and can run the game in most of my screen (not quite full).

Because they suck crap and GTA ran at 2 FPS with errors on my laptop with some nVidia integrated thing, which sucked stuff, but was still 5x better than Intel.

because it would melt, explode and then cause a nuclear holocaust if it tried to run anything more demanding than wolfenstein 3d

no
why would you assume that he has an integrated intel gpu
I know that they suck. that is not something I would question

Because he listed generic laptop CPU and his OS.

what's wrong with his OS?

Only non-custom building noobs list their OS in specs

GTA4 works fine on Windows 7.  I'm able to run it on Windows 7 64-bit with no compatibility problems.

What is your graphics chip, though?  Open the start menu, and in the search bar at the bottom type in:
Code: [Select]
dxdiagand press enter.  If it asks to check for digital signatures, go ahead, it's harmless and only ensures that your drivers are verified from their manufacturers.
Then go under the Display tab, as shown, and give us the "Name:" and "Manufacturer:"

Don't worry if yours doesn't say "Display 1" or "Display 2", mine only says that because I have two monitors plugged into my computer.

Intel HD Graphics Family
Intel Corporation
