Author Topic: The OUYA, a new kind of console.  (Read 8285 times)

meh, i think the only reason people believe PCs are superior are because of brown townog controls with FPS games. in almost literally every other field consoles are the winner, controllers more specifically. probably the reason that drives this belief even more is that FPS games are seriously dominant in today's games.

developing my "that falling box game" game, I found playing with a controller was way more fun than using arrow keys and Z, and i'm pretty sure that'd apply to everything but FPS games.

me being a person who's not particularly fond of FPS games with few exceptions, I think this'll be my kind of system.

...minus how they actually encourage developers to make it so that you have to buy ingame content or a subscription. paying more for a full version is cool, and that's how games have always been, but subscriptions and ingame content are too stereotypical of money printing machines for companies/developers.

Computers generally have better specs

Computers generally have better specs
thing is, since games are made specifically for those consoles, better specs aren't needed. every game runs the same on every console unless the user forgets it up somehow. with computers, you have to worry about system requirements and all that stuff. for the person who isn't good for computers, and even for people who are, it's easier and convenient and generally more fun to just get a console.

Actually wait I had an image somewhere

oh by the way guys

1g memory...

i realize a gaming console has a simplified "OS" and no background junk running like a computer has.

but even modern games can use well over 2g of ram on their own...
consoles should be having 4g now. especially for how cheap ddr3 is

the ps3 and xbox 360 have 512mb of ram

the ps3 and xbox 360 have 512mb of ram
Doesn't ps3 have 256 or no?

PC's are like cars. You can take them apart and resemble them as well as replace parts and customize it. A PC is a like a pickup truck because they can do way more things at ease than a console can. If something breaks you can fix it. A console is like an Ugly Gremlin/Ugo because they breakdown allot(Can you say RRoD). If it breaks you have to send it back or buy a new one.

Now for the classic graphics arguement.

The guy who made that picture crys himself to sleep every night because he can't admit that he is jealous. Sounds like he uses a 360 so If I find him I'll send him this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KN0K58EfJSg

i'd imagine that in the future, this is how consoles would be if they aren't already like that now.

and my wii has broken down waay less than my computer has gotten overheats and bluescreens and stuff.

ew really?

well considering ps3 and 360 games are only about 50% of the graphic and processing quality of their PC counterpart.
i can see the many places where resources were saved...
