What's the MOST controversial topic?

Don't forget witch hunts
Yes witch hunts, heretic burning, political assassinations, public beatings, flagrancy, whippings, public executions, ect were all done in Europe for a very long time. Meanwhile in the states Americans have been practicing the same thing for a few hundred years. Sorry Europeans, you can close your eyes and plug your ears and pretend to be the good guys. Just remember those Americans are descendents of Europeans who carried own your violent traditions.

I still practice witch-hunting to this day. Keeps the neighborhood safe.

I am just bumping this for your rambling.  I'm in Maine after a 6 hour drive.

Wooooooo!

We don't have the death penalty up here, but if an American guy does some stuff up in Canada and gets caught he's your problem now.

1st degree murder should be a death penalty

In any case what so ever, the state should no have control over if you live or die. If it is something completely horrible that they did, then their case should be given to the US government for a decision. I'm not talking about like, 2 people dead. I'm talking about if someone kills 12 people and 50 are injured.

God, you're such a loving starfish. Sorry, I haven't studied law for the past ten years. Sorry, I'm not the brightest burning light bulb on the loving block. I don't have a good understanding on this warped stuffty law system society has made up.
forget your statistics. forget your logic. I hope your entire family gets murdered by someone one day, and then they get let off because they're insane and didn't know what they were doing.

Saw it coming.

Before Nymtheus thinks I'm a savage I'm going to give example why shouldn't have the death penalty or just slow down on killing people, I would like to say that back then before DNA evidence exsisted it was easy to convict people for things they didn't do. If your wife was murdered with one of your knives and you were gone that day, it is still good enough reason to convict you. Infact thats how many people thought back then. Sometimes people who are incapable commiting a certain crime were just convicted just because. For example a black man without a right arm could be convicted for killing a kid with a two handed sword. So anyway as result of this way of thiking many people were put on deathrow for thing they didn't do. When DNA evidence/CSI type stuff came around it helped authorities find who the real criminals that commited a certain crime. As result from finding so many people who were actually innocent many states ordered the people on deathrow to be pardoned and released or have their sentences commuted to something less. Also because of DNA evidence many States abolished capital punishment to avoid killing the innocent. It should also be noted that gathering DNA is expensive and that there are still probably innocents in prison.

Now before we think about abolished capital punishment we need to think issues like prison overcrowding, taxes, and someone's fate, and yes inmates are put to work. Who do think cleans the sides of most of the Highways and Freeways and makes the license plates?

This whole thing is dumb, lol.

Death penalty is bullstuff - if I went around on a killing spree and I got captured, being trapped in a prison cell for the rest of my life would be the most terrifying loving thing on the face of this very planet. I'd go insane, I'd go corrupt with guilt, I'd be in so much pain and I'd regret every second of what I did.

If I did all that knowing I'd just get killed in the end, well forget it. I'll just go end a bunch of innocent lives if they're just gonna end mine. It's not like I care, lol. I'll be dead right?

This is exactly what I have been trying to say. Locked in solitary confinement, you would go insane. That's some punishment right there.

You guys in Europe(this is Europe in general)
again, you couldn't even point out my country on the map. I guess you're as educated as your "ancestors".
