The death penalty costs the government/state WAY more than life in prison.

I'm against the death penalty for 4 reasons.

1. The absurd cost.
2. The possibility of executing wrongfully convicted people. See: Troy Davis
3. It's not a punishment. Death is a release from the pains of life. They have nothing to worry about if they are dead..
4. It's barbaric. We live in a civilized time. Executions are stooping to the level of the murderers themselves. We should be above that.

I believe that death penalty should be there but just for the people who really deserve it.
Being the cost of it you might as well just take execution back a decade or 2 and bring back hanging.
Its pretty cheap, only cost the cost of a rope.

The cost doesn't come from the act itself, it's mostly legal fees and whatnot.

Hmm... The cost of killing them installing vs or keeping in a cell where the cost builds up and up. Also you have to remember we aren't executing people everyday(unless you live in Texas). You also have to think about the prison population because you can only hold so many. If you live in California you will know that we have more prisons than schools and we are still building more. Eventually we released many minor offenders to make room for the more violent offenders. Also some sick guy is going to profit off this by siphoning tax money used for these prisoners, privately owned prisons scandals(cash for kids scandal any one?).

So what I trying to say is that we should avoid System Corruption, Prison Overcrowding, and a police state.

Personally I think prisoners convicted of death penalty should all just be put into a giant, unbreakable room filled with barriers and obstacles with firearms and explosives and fight to the death for our entertainment which would be sold for $100 per viewing.

It would make millions.

Like the one with the...you know... the thread about something and it was like a year ago? Wasn't there a thread where some of us talked about something? The one thread?

I use to play Risk type games all the time when I was twelve. Eventually I started memorizing where countries and continents were. Plus I always think about the map of the world when people talk about places like Africa or Europe. Also I only used google to find a map to show you what that I know what I'm talking about. I would love to talk more about where you live, but its time to get back on topic.
