Blockscape is a sandbox game. You play in a computer generated world made out of blocks.
Blockscape is managed by a solo developer, Jens Blomquist

Gameplay trailer

Blockscape is currently in phase 1 and in open beta.

Phase 1 is the world of blockscape. It is the environment you play in. All the trees, mountains, rivers, caves and all the blocks that they are made of. It is the tools you use to shape the world. It is the rules for how things works.
Phase 2 will contain actual gaming modes (Defence, RPG/Survival and God)
Phase 3 is a secret.

The game is being sold for €9.90
(or $12 or £7)

You could also get the Demo mode, but saving and god mode are disabled.

thought it was going a horrible blender-ised version of a block game and runescape

I'd say its inspired by minecraft, the dev seems Scandinavian tho.

It looks like it has similar elements to blockland, like that brick selection bar at the bottom of the screen
It looks hell of a lot cooler than minecraft

I can't tell, but it looks sort of like an old version of CryEngine.
Like, Far Cry 1 old. But better.

notch made minecraft himself, but he hired other people along the way to give their great ideas to this game
