I think it has gone past being the choice of anyone anymore.  The earth is being over populated and no body is really doing jack stuff about it.  "AW YEAH THE PRIUS WILL SAVE TEH WORLD!"  No it won't.  The more people that exist the more that require resources, the more the requirments, the faster the depletion.  Heres' an idea!  LOWER THE POPULATION!  Then we'll talk about being green.

Want to lower the population? Create more wars, stop creating vaccines, and let people roam the streets with guns, release the entire prison population, and launch a nuke at china. Or we can be all civilized and just try to convince people to not have so many kids or avoid getting pregnant at all.

at this rate, we wont have time for that...

humanity has had 20k years of civilized society to educate and evolve around social issues like that.

but we are on the brink of to late. we maybe have 50 years of population growth left before things get ugly for everyone on earth.

it HAS to be forced

in my views, if both parties chose to have intercourse, that means they knew that there was a chance of getting a child.
simply aborting a kid for convenience because you're too damn lazy to take birth control or wear a condom is not a valid reason as to why to kill the kid. it's your problem, you need to deal with it.

if only one party chose to have the intercourse (e.g. rape), then it would be an option of either abortion or keeping the child.

what's your stance on this, forum?
My stance is that it's impossible to abort a child since a child is never inside their mother per se.

But, of course, I don't know you, maybe you've been inside your mother ;)

The human population was 4 billion 50 years ago. Our population is spiraling out of control, everyone knows that. We might not even have 50 years.

my dad says overpopulation doesn't have to happen if most people have decent lives or somesuch

you know?

well based on the rate of population growth now. and the rate of the major issues on earth that cause it, that are not decreasing.

what do you suggest?

tell your dad everyone on earth is well aware of the reasons for the growth. that is far from the solution.

we literally need some massive wars to kill everyone off (ridiculous). or forced abortions, forced eugenics, forced family control.

I'm not pro-choice or pro-life
I'm pro-abortion
DOWN WITH CHILDREN

At least the child gets a chance to live. But anyways, you do realize that adopted kids are able to see their biological parents. I know adopted kids who see their biological parents plenty.

Your last sentence is a random attack. I just stated that a parent can put their child up for adoption and then you come back with this bs comment. You obviously don't know how many kids are adopted. None of the adopted kids I know have psychological disorder. A lot of them are happy because they were adopted into a loving family.
The woman still has to go 9 months physically limited, with sporadic pregnancy troubles and the actual birth so this kid has a chance of being adopted and internalizing their abandonment. Abortion is simply better for everyone.

This time it's personal

Weren't people wailing about the world running out of space for population growth like 20 years ago? And then it never happened?
