Windows 2000 was released alongside ME and was good.  Also, 95 was bad?

You can't disable Metro (or whatever they will call it next week) without hacking it out through the registry.

well sure lol
its a standard goto for altering 100s of things on a pc.

you never dug into the regs before? lol its not a big deal

I can see in a few years Microsoft being like apple. Breaking your stuff if you try to mod it.

I've done it maybe once to change the resolution of a program, but that's beside the point.  how many people go into the registry to change things as part of their standard Windows set up?  Not many people.  But that's beside the point, it turns out I was incorrect.  You can't actually disable Metro through the registry anymore.

What does it take away lol?

I don't give a crap if they atop supporting XP because it has the best Paint

They will stop 7 support in 12 years

Now we can download Chrome twice as quickly!

What does it take away lol?
For one, the start button.
Yes, I know you can re-enable it.

if I wanted an xbox 360 layout, i would play an xbox 360.

not spend $400-$800 on something I could get for $199
also pretty sure they have rainmeter skins that look similar to an xbox 360 layout or something.

I'm assuming that this was going along home editions of Windows, hence why NT4 or any other workstation NT OS wasn't on it.
There's still no excuse for why they're saying 95 is bad

I was under the impression that 8 would allow theme changes just as most Windows releases have in the past.
