They destroyed many budhist statues in Afghanistan that were made when the mongols used to inhabit the land. These were big statues that were built into the cliffs off mountains by the way.

destroying things like that is disgusting. this is history that should belong to the entire world.

and ancient egypt is just that, VERY ANCIENT. it should be irrelevant who built the pyramids and why. or what they believed in those times.

A lot of missionaries (or the ones that my church supports) don't go over there and just started jamming religion down peoples throats, they are usually volunteering at churches to help with community meals, bible studies, vbs'. Other go over as doctors or help build houses.

I knew a girl who was raising money to go to some stuffty african country as a missionary.
I really don't see the point in it. You really aren't going to make the world a better place by going. That's not me being a cynical atheist, it's just being realistic.

evangelism is just a numbers game for them

we don't see it as important, but they feel it's their divine duty to "save" x amount of people

I know that most of you don't believe in God and think Christianity is stupid, but that's not what I believe. The past week I've been up at a camp and God spoke to me and He wants me to go and be a missionary in Egypt. Whether it is against your views or not, I'm not trying to start a religion war. I'm simply telling you what has happened to me in the past week. However I will not be going for a while. I still have to finish Highschool and I want to take a missionary camp before I go.
