Author Topic: So i demanded a Refund...  (Read 2831 times)

Here's what's going to happen: Fracture's fix or another subsequent post will work for OP, who will then thank him before criticizing everyone else in the thread for "not helping" because OP was too lazy to find it himself, locking the thread behind him.

What the forget did you expect, the game was made in 2004.

Get over it, Fallout 2 is amazing.

Fallout 2 was made in 1998...

God this guy is so stupid. He still does not understand that he signed an agreement that states he can never get a refund, no matter what
They offer refunds to pre-purchases. Your argument is invalid.

I said in the post the HD patch, the restoration patch and the official patch do not work. Please read before you post.

Fallout 1 & 2 are funky when played on Windows 7, sometimes it works without graphical issues, sometimes it doesn't. But instead of whining you could try to resolve the issues instead of wanting your measly 10 or 15 dollars (or whatever you spent) back.

The kind of staff that sticks to what's outlined in their Subscriber Agreement and doesn't alter it just because you want them to. It's only a "broken game" because you refuse to look up how to fix it. I posted three of the multitudes of fixes available for the game that took me less than a minute to find. Games not working because of hardware and software problems for certain users requiring additional attention besides simply downloading the game is not a new concept, and if it's not something you want to deal with maybe gaming is not for you. I can guarantee the problem you are having is not a result of the game itself, but of a conflict with the hardware and/or software on your computer.
You both have not read a single damn thing in thisthread besides me wanting a refund for a clearly broken for everyone game. To dumb it down i'll put my words in a list.

1. GOG version works just fine (seeing how the patches are actual compatible)because its tweaked and fixed to work correctly on newer hardware

2. Steam version is ripped directly from the disk and the file format is changed. any patch or mod will not recognize the files even if you follow the steps in detail.

3. If its a conflict with the hardware and/or software who's fault is that; the game's. The game is conflicting.

4. i have googled all the patches and fixes and none of them recognize the format the game files are in. Please refer to the OP before you post again, because you and bengs seem to read one sentence and focus on that for everything you say.

As said before. Refer to the OP and the many times i've said "all the patches and fixes DO NOT WORK AND DO NOT RECOGNIZE STEAM'S FORMAT". Please people read the OP before you goddamn post.

And i will also say Fracture is the only one who has been remotely helpful in this thread because he isnt the one yelling how its absolutely impossible to get a refund (invalid) and how i'm too lazy to find a fix myself (invalid, read the OP as i've also said many times.)

Heres what I did.

>Install High Res Patch
>Launch game
>Change the games resolution to fit my screen
>Fix'd

if it doesnt work for you than you're doing something weird.

Here what i do:

download installer.
Set filepath to what it is designated to be in my steam folder, because there is no interplay or blackisle folders.
let it install
"Files unrecognized"

there you go.

Are you handicapped? This isn't a pre-purchase, my argument is 100% valid and your stupidity is 100% visible

Did you try the one I linked?

Arguing with OP is pointless. Like trying to reason with a coconut. forget it.

Zoom in on guy in lower left
That's my expression

Funny. i recall you posting several assumptions that i never googled any fix or am too lazy to install them. You seem to be the one  impossible to reason with, since you barely read any of the OP at all.

Funny. i recall you saying it was impossible to get a refund. clearly not if they offer refunds to pre-purchases. If they do it to pre-purchases if the game is broken or bugged then why cant they do it to regular purchases, Who's the dumb one now?

Did you try the one I linked?
Yes. that is one of the patches i state did not recognize steam's format.

You are installing it to the fallout 2 folder, correct?

I actually don't remember an installer, I installed mine manually I think.

My last Steam account got banned when i asked for a refund :c

the onyl download i can find is the installer. mine directory is: My Computer>CDrive>Program Files (x86)>Steam>Steamapps>Common>Fallout 2. I put the installer and files inside the fallout 2 folder and it still says it cant recognize the files.

I would help you out some more but I'm off my computer.
