Yeah I think it's safe. But I'm no expert so if I were you I'd wait for more people to respond lol
It is Steam trying to tell you how to fix Steam.
You're doing something wrong.Post the exact "login error" you're getting, 'cuz Steam should be redownloading all of the necessary files.
"huurrr hurrrrr dalate all this stuff and uh yeah then it'll all be magically fixed."
This honestly made me unable to think of anything to say for a solid five minutes. Why didn't you just buy it from GOG.com in the first place if it didn't have the issue and was $5 cheaper.
maybe i didn't know about GOG until all the posts saying GOG version was better on all the mod pages and bug fix pages (which non were for steam version, seeing how it cant be edited without corrupting the game). Please think about things like that.
Wait no.Forget.Steam doesn't give refunds anyways, and not wanting to do what somebody from Steam says will fix your game doesn't really help your cause.
If you read what i said before i said i will try it when i have time to.And if they refuse to refund a broken game (which several other people claim to have the same issues after just purchasing the game) then i dont know what kind of staff they even have.

Just FYI, Steam does not provide refunds. This is stated in the Subscriber Agreement so whether you read it or not you've already agreed that you're fine with that.
3. BILLING, PAYMENT AND OTHER SUBSCRIPTIONSALL CHARGES INCURRED ON STEAM, AND ALL PURCHASES MADE WITH THE STEAM WALLET, ARE PAYABLE IN ADVANCE AND ARE NOT REFUNDABLE IN WHOLE OR IN PART, REGARDLESS OF THE PAYMENT METHOD, EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY SET FORTH IN THIS AGREEMENT.
