when you try to delete a character it asks you your birthday and first it just has a "type it here" window, but once you try to type that goddamn pin window appears out of nowhere and you have to use that thing again.

Because a few years back they were having massive problems with different forms of "hacking" players, including key loggers. The on-screen keyboard has been part of the game for a long time - You're far too late to complain about such an imbedded 'feature.'

Edit: Apparently if you force quit the game, it re-rolls your choices. I got another Jr. Balrog like last time. :D Gonna stock up in case they have a Perm Water Life event or something.

Probably because EU players have to play on the stuffty EU client which barely ANYONE plays on.
That being said, I still have my account from way back when Maple NA was still called Maple Global, so I just play through the regular client :l

I was trying to download files and noticed my download rate was being stuff. Then I noticed Steam was downloading something. Turns out it was downloading a MapleStory update:

I love how they give top billing to "Advance faster" on the update showcase page (first link). It is literally lowering the level requirement for later jobs... How that even works is beyond me, since you depend on levels of AP matching to get things. Probably screws up everyone's tables on how to level correctly.

Edit: Oh WOW, the second link says they removed the "substat requirements" from all equipment. Which as their example shows, means you no longer need a stat useless to your class to use equipment which is SPECIFIC to your class. Thing is, that limitation was a balance. You couldn't do too good on your other stats if you wanted one of those...

Got from level 73 to 82-84 in like 2-3 hours.

Yeah, turns out the billions I spent on getting enough DEX to bring it up from my base of 4 to enough to equip Empress on my Hero was for nothing. At least you can't make the Rising Sun items anymore so I guess I can consider them to be "collector's items" and flaunt the full set.

But anyway, I started playing again last week. I did my first Zak attempt last night solo and can kill it in ~10 minutes, so if anyone still plays and wants a free zhelm I can take you on a run. Though everyone became so much stronger when they gave people 60 extra fourth job points (I was hitting 1m per swing with a fast weapon on Zak), so maybe you can solo it yourself.
