Basically Telar's addressed all the
naysaying issues pointed out with the first one and fixed them, as well as adding some more features. This one's not for sale, but the schematics will be given to all nations allied to Telar if they will agree not to pass the blueprints or product off to any nation without Telar's direct consent. Either way, they cost a lot to build should anyone chose to use them.
Whole thing's about a kilometer and a quarter in diameter (1/4 kilometer wider than the first one). Pumice has been mixed in with the non inflating foam because it's cheaper and works just as well. Three artillery decks in stead of two, now the big guns (upgraded to railguns) can't be aimed into the FF, but are retracted so that the blast shield can come down over the gun openings. Extra anchors have been added, this time using carbon instead of steel cables. There are now four runways in stead of three. SAM missiles can be fired from every four decks and the top, long or short range missiles can be launched from the FF II as well. The FF II has been equipped with more advanced radar and sonar, and now uses microwaves to jam radios. As a last ditch effort, an EMP can be set off to cripple enemy jets, mechs, &c. The submarine docking port has been enlarged and outfitted with torcreep tubes to attach enemy submersibles. Finally and of great importance, it now runs on three nuclear generators which eject used fuel rods into the ocean below, and generally providing power more efficiently than the metric crapload of diesel generators the FF I used.
