What don't you like about it? Isn't that what most Pyros use?

anything with degreaser is almost too good.

Is the fast weapon switch really that big of a deal?

Hey guys, anyone want the Apparatchik's Apparel? I'm selling it for 2 ref.

If you don't know what it looks like:

Is the fast weapon switch really that big of a deal?

Yes, IMO it is the best Flamethrower. The weapon switch seems meh at first, but in combinations with the Axtinguisher/Powerjack/Flare Gun/Reserve Shooter/hell even the shotgun, you see a huge difference in how much easier it is to get kills.

What don't you like about it? Isn't that what most Pyros use?

Yes, that IS what most Pyros use, and that's part of what I don't like about it

Pyro has become this absurd almost-always-instant-kill-combo class instead of what I believe was originally supposed to be an ambush class (some may argue that the Combo Pyro can still ambush people, and this is true, but you used to have to hold the flames on someone for a few seconds to kill them at which point they could turn around and retaliate, but now it's just poof BAM and they're dead) to the point that most Pyros rarely use their Flamethrowers to actually throw flames unless they're igniting someone so they can switch to the Flare Gun or Axtinguisher and I will always hate that decision on Valve's end

I don't normally care how people play the game (unless our team is stuck at the gate for five minutes and we've got four Spies) but when there is such an obviously overpowered loadout like this that everyone uses instead of stock I have to wonder how Valve can make all these changes to various items like the Equalizer/Escape Plan because people use them too much but they don't even touch the Pyro, STAR mentioned in one of his latest videos that it worried him that there were no changes to Pyro weapons in the update because that means Valve thinks the class is balanced, and I didn't even think of that at first but I find it incredibly irritating

The Degreaser sacrifices afterburn for weapon switch, but when you can almost instantly kill anyone by using 1 ammo to light them on fire, airblast them into the air, and seal their fate with a few Reserve Shooter shots, Flare Gun flares, or an Axtinguisher swing, who the forget needs it? Afterburn doesn't even matter most of the time, because chances are there's a Medic or a medkit close enough that if the person gets away they'll reach one in time, so it's not even a fair trade-off, it's a direct upgrade

the loadout isn't overpowered
it's just all the other weapons are underpowered

don't get into close combat with a pyro if you don't want to be instakilled

EDIT: there's a reason pyros don't do as well in competitive (i hate to bring comp up but i feel its needed) and are told to stay back in it. it's because pyros aren't as powerful in general as people think they are. people need to learn to not go close quarters with pyros - be more careful around corners and look behind you. don't just run into them.

Wow, why did I never think of that?????

I've been using the Degreaser since i got it a long time ago, i wasn't asking that as if i didn't know how good it was, silly!

-stuff-
If you don't do the so called 'Puff and Sting' tactic, you get mocked for being a W+M1 Pyro for even the slightest use of the primary weapon, but if you use the Puff and Sting combo, people call you OP

Thing is, they use those tactics because it's what works the best, most of the people who play this game just want to play and have fun and kill people and not be killed, doing these tactics does that for people, they don't want to die a lot trying to master this new loadout they conjured up to show how pro or skilled they are, they just want to play and enjoy the game

Wow, why did I never think of that?????
But it's true, a Pyro can't combat you at long range, a lot of classes can fight at mid to long range and easily take care of a Pyro

The only way a Pyro can be long rage is with the flare guns, but the flares are easily avoidable

Rainblower will always be the best flamethrower.

Wow, why did I never think of that?????
i don't get it
why are you complaining about it then if you don't get insta-killed?!

also mann co sale is now going on! lots of cheap miscs :D

Because you don't just decide "gee I think I'll not end up within 4 feet of a Pyro today"

Rainblower will always be the best flamethrower.

If only the viewmodel didn't take up a quarter of the screen

I just got a blue cooler key from some random guy for 1 refined. huh.

If only the viewmodel didn't take up a quarter of the screen
Ah it's like the norm to have a modified view model fov anyway

People are probably considered weird for having the default fov :cookieMonster:

Because you don't just decide "gee I think I'll not end up within 4 feet of a Pyro today"
except you do. unless he ambushes you.
being ambushed means you forgeted up somewhere. you either a. didn't go around corners carefully enough (or in which case if there was no way to not get killed, your team should have told you about it meaning there should only be one death) b. you let a pyro get behind you and also didn't look behind yourself enough.

it's not the pyro's fault if you and your team can't work together.
