Im sure if I stuck around long enough to actually get better weapons Id do somewhat better.

Because this game is actually pretty well balanced, you can't actually get a 'better' weapon. (though there are some cheap ones)

It also doesn't help that I cant figure out how the Engineer and Spy works.

No no, insta hit as in the bullets hit their mark instantly. You cant lead your shots which screws me up every time.

the hitscan weapons (except from sniper rifle) are not very effective at medium to long range and if you got someone up in your face you should try your best to avoid them (jump around) and hit them with your melee.

engineer is usually seen as a long-term area denial class because it does building stuff and whatnot. guarding areas is easy for beginners
spy is a stealth class that is kind of hard to get a good grip on, but it pays off in the end

you can "lead" your shots with the hitscan weapons by strafing and shooting when your crosshair lines up on an enemy

Said skill4life bringing up something I did once on a sever. And your correct, I hate the idea of needing a client addon just to play a server correctly. Forcing addons on people seems rather sketchy and Id rather avoid that. As for that one server you referenced I tried to play it till I noticed I couldnt and then went afk after sharing my opinion.

Also, I'm sorry. I thought this was the place to discuss the game TF2. I found it generally hard to play being all the weapons being insta hit. I'm used to leading shots. I also do not understand hit detection. I hit players at random and they seem to hit me at random too. Also, I dont like the team balance. First game I was put on a server with a bunch of other new players playing against a team of experienced players with server clearing weapons. I got no kills and was several spawn camped.
