The most accurate name i've seen given to a sniper rifle is 'Point and Click Adventure', so try treating the Sniper like one

except whatever you're trying to click is either invisible, invincible or moving fast enough for you to miss a couple shots

hell, it could even be right behind you.

That's why it's like a point-and-click adventure - there are so many ways to die!

lower sensitivity gives you better control over your accuracy
why not just use the highest sensitivity? you barely have to move your mouse to turn all the way around twice.
I feel comfortable with a higher sensitivity (nearly max on the default slider) because then I don't have to drag my mouse all over the place. I currently have it set to 4.5 or so, but it used to be ~7.5

Do you want to be able to hit things or move your reticle fast?

So many dumb ways to die 🎶

Why not both?

Why not both?
you need to practice at a lower sensitivity and gradually increase it

I don't have a very great mouse, it's just some crappy Logitech thing. Would a change in mouse help significantly?

How does lower sensitivity help? You have to move your mouse all over.
this video explains it quite well
it's about CSGO but both are valve games and they share the same principle

no. keep it a low sensitivity. you will never go back once you get used to it.

Some good ol' fashioned practice today went kinda well. There were a couple times where I got headshots on moving targets by tracking, but most of my headshots relied on corner sniping & waiting for enemies to wander into my crosshair.

EDIT: How's my medic look?
