Author Topic: Stupid question but what does the colourblind mode in L4D do?  (Read 5450 times)

Being unable to see colour at all, it doesn't do forget all. What exactly is it supposed to do? It makes no difference.

i think it makes important items look more noticable or something

Well if you're not color blind, of course you're not gonna see anything different.

according to a gamespot post its more about switching the colors on the health bars

it makes brighter colors brighter and stuff

It appears to tell you that if you get bitchslapped one more time you die.

I'm talking about the thing that apparently switches colours around, not when it goes grey, although it would be useful if it went darker or something when it does that.

You don't get it
He said that you won't be ableto notice changes if you aren't colorblind yourself
As I said, it probably only switches the colors on the hud
Since the colorblind are most likely unable to see red or green, they change those colors, or else they will just see a black bar

Changes red and green to something and purple i think.

If you're unable to see green, you must be unable to see blue or yellow seeing as that's what it's made up of so it would appear as either one because the eye uses RYB colour rods not RGB. Isn't it funny how I know so much yet I can't see any of this crap?

but you see if it is cyan then in esitiotlotltoeltoeshCIA it will show up white instead of black

When you see the outline of players in L4D they are the same shade of color, or at least. I think colorblind mode changes the intensity of shade

I can't really tell the difference, it looks exactly the same to me because it's all the same shade of grey.

All the colours are tied, looks like they're all equal.

Colour blindness isn't seeing everything in grey. I have strong Red/Green and weak Blue/Yellow colour blindness and it means that I have a hard time distinguishing between certain hues of colours. For example, as a child my Blue and Green legos would look exaclty the same when they were in their dark box and i would only realise that i had got the wrong colour when i picked the piece out.

Another example is league of legends. The health bars are green/red. Before they released colour blind mode I had a hard time distinguishing who was ally and who was foe in the fast team fights.

I know but my colour blindness means I can't see colour at all, everything is grey.
