Author Topic: Resistance and Liberation | god DAMMIT who threw that loving smoke grenade  (Read 4021 times)

About
The goal of Resistance and Liberation is to realistically portray the events and actions taken by the 82nd Airborne during their stay in Normandy. We will attempt to follow the regiments through the campaign that was taken by the men themselves. We will also introduce various other World War II setting maps. The campaign will begin with players dropping into Normandy in the early hours of June 6th with the ultimate goal of capturing the town of Sainte-Mere-Eglise. From there, subsequent maps will include missions based on locations such as Montebourg Station, La Fiere, Carentan, and other key areas.

System Requirements
  • Windows XP or later
  • 1.7 GHz Intel or AMD Processor (3.0 Ghz recommended)
  • 512 MB of RAM (1 GB recommended)
  • DirectX 8.1 graphics card (DirectX 9.0 recommended)
  • Sound card with speakers or headphones
  • Internet Connection
  • Input - Keyboard & mouse
  • Source SDK Base 2007 (Source SDK)

Features
Resistance and Liberation includes many features of realism, such as: no ammo count in magazines, grenade cooking, no crosshairs, no player identifiers, maps, injuries, and working helmets. If you fall from a certain height you may die or injure your legs. If you get shot in the head but your helmet is hit and not you, the helmet will fly off. If you're under too much fire, then your screen will blur, become black around the edges and your accuracy will degrade. Your teammates (and you!) won't have a beacon above your head, so you should make sure to shout out "Friendly!" when approaching a friendly position.

Sounds cool. Free is even better! I'll get downloading right away.

I hate being the NCO. "NCO! Throw a smoke grenade over there!" *sitting in a ditch with 3 possible, incredibly open ways to assault the enemy* "Where?" "THERE! *pointing at nothing, just staring at me*"

You need Steam and I THINK hl2.

Yeah I didn't see that it's a mod.
I have HL2 anyway so no matter.

Dammn sounds like fun.

Was the aiming animation glitch ever fixed?

I was playing on eglise I think and we were going to capture the hotel. There were five of us. Two of the guys got picked off by one German that I then took down. Then we entered the building, and there was a German on the stairwell. I ducked right before a bullet slammed into the face of a teammate behind me. Me and the NCO shot up at him and he retreated, no hits. We went upstairs and the NCO went first. The NCO got hit once and I finished off the national socialist before he could kill the NCO. I looked down at the corpse.. then I held my microphone button and screamed GRENADE! I ran and dove onto the stairs but my NCO did not make it. The Kraut had dropped a grenade. I went inside the room and hid in a corner as I told the story to my friend. I had to cut it short -- I heard voices outside. Luckily, it was a group of 7 allies, and the other NCO. We proceeded to make our way to the old folks home via a tree ontop of a wall where we cleared the area and captured it.
