If you've visited off-topic lately, you might have seen the thread "research Hiding Places". If you've read it, you'll see that it is everything but it's topic. It amuses me, because the people who are doing it are defending, and openly admit to de-railing the topic. Because I said something about it, I'm a ridiculous control freak, apparently.
I usually don't care, but the thread turned into a
200-page de-rail. The "de-railers" said that it's theirs thread now, and that the OP agreed to it. However, couldn't provide a realistic reason to why they never changed the title.
I'm just going to put this topic out there:
Page 1Page 200LogicWho cares what it started out being about. That's not what it's about now. Things change. Get over it. De-rails don't hurt you in any way. Obviously, if it was de-railed, the original discussion ran it's course. If it hadn't become this, the thread would have died. How is that any better?
I wasn't aksing you why you care. If it has a period, it's rhetorical. I didn't say it happened all of a sudden. I said that it happens. It happened gradually. Almost every "de-rail" can be followed as a logical discussion (to follow some, you'd have to be a part of outside conversations with the usual posters here, however). How is it dying on topic any better, though? Either way, the original discussion is over, but this way, a new discussion can blossom from the remains of the old. You sound like the kind of guy who would burn down his orchard and start a whole new one, instead of simply planting some new trees with the old.
I don't give a jarl WHY you care, because you shouldn't. It's ridiculous, and you're a control freak.
EDIT: And yeah, the OP declared this to be a different thread. Not that the OP's opinion should matter more than any other. He creates the thread, he doesn't rule it.
