I bought a new (old) radio that was either built in (unlikely) or modeled after a 1932 style radio.

Have it hooked up to play internet radio (big band music, of course).

Just so you can get the full effect of how awesome this radio is:

P.S.

I actually do this sort of thing all the time. Let me know if anyone is interested in learning more about the things I find, I love talking about oldstuff and would totally make new videos (possibly of me actually doing the shopping so you can see the neat stuff I don't buy).

Make sure before you buy something that you call your buddy who is an expert on the types of things you're buying.

I'm pretty sure it's authentic, but im just not sure about this. Let me call my buddy up who will downplay the price for you.

That 7-up can looks so out of place.

Cute. It'd be awesome to see other stuff you've got.

I love yard sales and auctioning and antiques.

Haha, right, yeah, Pawn Stars jokes.

I'm usually pretty good at identifying these things myself as I'm a hobbyist antique-er and also history major.

I know that this radio, the Thomas Collector's Edition, was not in fact built in 1932, but was actually built in 1989 (thus still making it considered a "classic" by its age) and is only a replica of the original cathedral styled radios of it's would-be day.

I realized it was far fetched to say it was simply and old radio with a built in cassette, but then I was just being silly. I actually enjoy these things and know quite a bit about what it is I buy.

BEST I COULD DO IS 600

PawnStars jokes huh? Best I can do is five bucks.

I had one of those in my old house, i always liked the noise it made when you first turn it on...

I watched that stuff for like the last two nights at a hotel for a few hours each night and just forgetin' loved it

Where do you find old things the most? (apart from auctions)

I'm mostly looking for old handtools to restore.
