I heard an extremely inspiring speech by the president of Ireland recently - was it Ireland? - about these issues. It seems that nobody outside of the US stands with the republicans.

I saw a video once pre-2008 where people around the world were asked whether they wanted Obama or McCain to win the election, and evidently pretty much all of them said Obama. It really doesn't surprise me that the republican party has been losing approval lately--they just approved a platform that bans homoloveual marriage and abortion. It's astounding that people still think like this.
