I have tried so many ways of approaching this, but it's either getting killed by a soldier or some alien forgeter. I got down from 100 health and 80 armor within seconds of being shot by a soldier. This is worse than the lobby part. I'm not sure if it's because I'm on Hard, or if the AI was programmed to be the god damned Terminator; I've heard the AI is still godlike on easier difficulties.

I've decided that if you fight soldiers head-on in any sort of 1v1 gunfight, you're going to be forgeted up. The best idea to dealing with soldiers while maintaining health and armor is to always be a step ahead and use the environment. Resourcefulness!

Shoot every barrel ever.

It's bound to forget someone other than you up.

im pretty sure i managed to kill someone with wood crate debris shrapnel once

tripmines are useful during a foot chase

grenades in obvious ambush points

you can move barrels and make chain reactions

i would've loved to have a shotgun ammobox trap aswell

Useless Fact about the military:
The HECU or Hazardous Environment Combat Unit which is the group the soldiers belongs too is a part of United States Marine Corps. The term soldier refers to someone in the US Army where as Marine refers to Marines and Airmen to Airforce or Sailor to Navy(if he or she is a pilot then they are a navy airman/woman). Marines do not wear Berets either, instead they the 8-point Utility cover. Knowing Valve they probably think army=marines. Also aircraft like the F-16 and Apache are not in the marines aresenal. In real life they use the Cobra and Harrier. Also if you come across a marine on the street do not call him a soldier otherwise you will wake up in a gutter with a black eye and the anchor-eagle globe tatoo'd to your right arm.

Also, it took them what? Six years for ~77% of the game? I don't expect them to add Xen for a while.

Doesn't mean they weren't working on Xen in the meantime, but ok. I don't expect it next month obviously, but I don't expect it to take another six years.
