You are now Vazhirid Icosse, captain of the Phantom Nautilus star-dreadnought, admiral of the third quadrant main fleet, and general of the 23-29th armies. Some say you are one of the most skilled and respected military personnel in the hegemony, but dozens of others hold that title as well. It's because of this reputation that you were assigned by high command to remove the eldritch in this sector, as supposedly this is no regular eldritch. Needless to say, the other admirals and vazhirids are curious as to whether or not you can accomplish the task yourself, most of them believing that you were the wrong choice.

In the mean time, one of your lieutenants, Erdogo, returns to the bridge with a full report of the situation.

                                : Icosse.
: Erdogo.
: Has anything important happened?
: I questioned a couple humans we found on the surface, and talked to Admiral Silothu again. He says he's going to jump in here if he thinks anything is going wrong. So no, nothing important.
: Silothu is just upset he didn't get selected for this task. Of course he wants to jump in, save the day, and take all the credit.
: Right. Have you assessed the situation yet? Let's hear your report.
: It's definitely an eldritch. One large one that appears as several smaller organisms.
: How large?
: It's covered the planet by now. The amount of organisms is definitely in the millions.
: Where are they coming from? What's their source?
: It seems a ~20km husk of eldritch material crash landed on the surface. They're coming from there.
: A ~20km husk of anything crashing into a planet would cause widespread disaster. Why isn't the planet engulfed in dust and earthquakes?
: ...We don't know the answer to that.
: It doesn't matter. What matters is that we've found the head of the beast. If we destroy it, it could save the planet.
: How will we destroy it?
: Orbital bombardment, of course.
: And if destroying the head actually does nothing?
: There's enough fusion warheads on this ship to wipe the entire planet clean.
: Unfortunately, there isn't enough time to try out both options.
: Why would that be?
: Eldritch energy levels keep rising, and the "core" that crash-landed is producing larger and larger organisms, some of which may be ships. By the time we move into position to take out just the core, we could be facing a naval battle.

Move into position to wipe out the core, and possibly allow the threat to grow too large; or launch all of the warheads now, wiping out the planet and sacrificing the millions of people who are still alive on the surface?

Destroy the entire planet.

Evacuate as many people from the planet as possible then nuke the rest.

release prisoners
yeah you didnt think that we'd come up with that one huh
check and mate

check and mate
lost it

not entirely a bad option though; send them in to scout out the surface near the fissure before deciding anything. position the ships for nuking though.

Wipe out the core.
wipe the core
wipe the core

: We'll move into position to strike the core. Destroying the planet now will look bad.
: I hope you know what you're doing.
: What was that?
: Nevermind. I'll leave.

You are Captain Sebastian Mace, and the future seems rather unfortunate as of right now. They took your coat and gloves now, too, and you are currently sitting alone in a cell block. Across from your cell is Kalevi Nieminen and some other inmate. The lucky bastard got to keep his jacket for whatever reason.

After what was probably an hour after being placed in the cell, the lights abruptly dim, and a voice comes over the intercom saying something. An armed guard walks down the hallway.

Across the hall, you see Kalevi get up and start a fight with the other inmate. The guard, now agitated, walks in and attempts to stop the brawl.

In a sudden instant, Kalevi takes hold of the guard's gun, and the guard loses their head.

Interesting.

Signal him over to your cell. Then get the other inmate on your side to wear the armor as a disguise (he IS the same species as the guard right?)

They might not like you since you took them prisoner.  Although humbling, ask them to take you, even if as a prisoner.

What?

Tell that jerk in the jacket to come free you. Then free the others and start a prison break.

free everyone

jail escape rp

What?
You took them as prisoners before...

After this, they might not like you too much.

Begging is just about as much as you can do unless they're not holding a grudge over it, which I would find pretty strange.
