At this point Blockland runs on a heavily modified version of Torque. It's practically it's own engine. Porting it to something else won't help or fix anything useful.Originally people wanted it ported to Torque3D so we could have shadows and shaders, and well stuff look at that. We have them and we're not even on Torque3D.
Yeah but... Would shadows and shaders be more compatible if we were using Torque 3D?
Imagine the possibilities.
Pretty sure T3D's shaders aren't meant for handling 200,000 objects.
True, but the shaders update was mainly released to add more realism to the game (correct me if I'm wrong) and shadows are not composed of a square grid in reality.
(correct me if I'm wrong)
"realism""Blockland"Haha
the S&S update was released to make the game look better.
Too bad we would never need super-duper good shadows where everything in Blockland is practically a square or octagon. That's like asking for really good water physics, where we wouldn't even need them or ever use them.
yea we would. waterfalls going down bricks and evented water puzzles.
