I've actually been caught by the police twice. You might want to add this to OP, because so far it hasn't failed me.

Basically, we were in a building when a car pulled up the front. I was with two other friends and it was late night so we we freaked out at first but then we decide to approach the officer slowly. He basically said that this the area was a dangerous site and that it had been blocked off for a reason. Since I had my camera and tripod and all my lighting stuff with me, I said I was an art student out to take some arty pictures, and that I brought some friends to help me out. Hardly warning- just talked to the policeman and he was like "Yeah, okay, just pack up and move on."

Seriously, talking to the officer helps you out so much. Every time I say I'm an art student looking for some interesting photos- which is true. If you take a fancy camera and a tripod with you, as far as the officer is concerned all you really are is just some guy looking for snaps.

Worked both times.

If you can't run away or hide, hand yourself over. It's so much less suspicious if you do that, and it makes the officer's job easier... Just be sure it's actually a police officer and not some scary bikie gang.

I told the officer we was there for curiosity and he said "are you guys ready to go to jail? Because thats where you're going!"
My cousin was to busy stuffting his pants scared to talk leaving the talking to me...
I did everything I could to get out, I was nice to him, I was calm, I handed over all my stuff on me and everything and he was still a straight up richard head to me.

Every other house we've been in we never got caught.

I might post some photos here about a small abandoned physical treatment place or some stuff in my town

It looks like a mini mental ward :I
Do it! :D

Bump, anyone else have some pictures? I might fetch some from the internet just 'cause they're cool to look at.
Do this as well! I love seeing new pictures, even if you've never seen them in person.

When it rains, don't do drains!

I'll scrounge around and see if I can dig some pictures up (:
Yup, we have that exact saying here too! Also, I'd love to see your pics!

-snip-
Added! :D

Was putting all my photos together to post but then I hit something and I lost it all.
God dammit.

I'll post 'em all up later, though~

Wait, does this count if I explore an ghost road?

Looking forward to it.

It could, its still somewhat of an urban environment and a ton of abandoned areas have paranormal myths floating around them as well. I have a supposedly haunted road near where I live as well.

What's the name of your road?

Well it's actually a private road which has been never used.

Holy crap this one looks incredible

This looks like a really cool place.

I would love to visit the one in the third picture the most. I love abandoned power plants or anything to do with electricity. Unfortunately their are none around me.

I feel your pain Destroyer.
The only thing I got are Hay/Tobacco Barns and old collapsing houses.
I've been in about 3 or 4 abandoned houses around here, not much really.

One of the ones I was in was just a trailer filled it researcho.
Another one was just an empty trailer.
Then there is a 2 story house thats floor has caved in, it has a attic and all but there is to much there to see.
The last place is a 2 story house that is in pristine condition except one step on the stairs is broken. Honestly we could probably clean it up and make it into our club house.

Then there is a couple of barns I've been in but hell they're only barns what is there to say?

I want to upload pictures of my most recent exploration but it has 80+ pictures and I'm not sure of an easy way to show them off, any suggestions?

I would definitely enjoy the abandoned houses. I love anything abandoned. But watch out for the 3rd one, a major damage like a collapsed floor could mean the rest might be ready to go at any time.

This is a good place to visit if you're ever coming through Rhode Island, supposedly haunted.

That reminds me, if anyone wants any advice, questions, request places to explore, ex. Feel free to add me on Steam:

It is ready to go, you can hear it creek as we walk through.

Then there are the 2 barns, but as it turns out we aren't the only ones who occupy it...
Once we got to the gate and the barn doors were shut but you could still see slightly in and there were people inside, and you could hear talking inside of it.
We said "forget this" and left.

Its been awhile since I posted. But this Sunday my group is making the 1 1/2 hour drive to visit the abandoned town of Centralia and we may also stop at the nearby Pennhurst Asylum.

Should be a good day.
