Author Topic: Is anyone here against the legalization of marijuana?  (Read 6651 times)

making a discussion about marijuana on the blockland forums has the same result as making a discussion about religion on the blockland forums

it
doesn't
work
well
this anyways.

edit: make that pretty much anything debate-able.

Most people get addicted and spend what they have to get their hands on it. I swear to god, that I will be laughing at any Hobo who is a drug addict. weed is about as addictive as popcorn. if you have no self control you'll probably consume it a lot.

Tp the people who smoke weed.

loving smoke it, it helps cure cancer. wat

If I am going to be flamed for my opinion on this topic, get a job. we're a forum filled with teenagers. no.
no it isnt

No. My opinion is open to change, but they arent presenting any facts that would change my mind.
I'm not saying you have to change your mind based on what they've presented, but don't go into a tirade if someone says their opinion won't be changed, because ours probably won't be either. I think we came into this knowing that nobody is gonna change their opinion because of an internet argument. Agreed?

The OP is phrased perfectly to start an argument. I'm dissapointed.

For one, I wouldn't mind if it was legalized. People can destroy their bodies if they want to, but at the same time making it illegal won't stop druggies from doing it.

I don't want marijuana to be legalized, but I want tobacco to be outlawed.

okay so
something that will happen regardless
and something that will never happen.

care to explain how this is logical?

I don't want marijuana to be legalized, but I want tobacco to be outlawed.
It's too late for tobacco. Too many people are already hooked on cigarettes, it'd be like prohibition.

Think about it.  It alters your brain's ability to make judgements.
It is known to be just as bad as cigarettes health-wise.
You can validly get a DUI for it.

Find any OBJECTIVE AND UNIVERSAL good that comes from it, that can be proven, not speculated, and I might think otherwise, but seeing today's stuff generation as it stands doesn't tend to give any good support to it.

The only speculated "good" that would come out of it is more high school dropouts, allowing for less competition to get into universities.  However, that affects everything else in that subject matter differently.  1)  School dropout count raises.  2)  Staff laid off from educational jobs.  We would be losing qualified teachers that are educating America's NEXT generation.

On the flip side, what are some OBJECTIVE AND UNIVERSAL consequences of not having it legalized.

The jails would be filled with innocent people who were forced to do weed

I don't want marijuana to be legalized, but I want tobacco to be outlawed.

tobacco is worse so /agree

wait

that contradicts what I said before

oh well i was being facetious

The shear amount of uninformed and complete idiots in this thread is ridiculous.

I was calling for objective and universal.  This is speculation.  Also, if you willingly smoke weed, you are not forced to do it.

Not exactly.

They've been informed, they just have a different mindset about it.

a horribly incorrect, stubborn mindset

Think about it.  It alters your brain's ability to make judgements. So does alcohol.
It is known to be just as bad as cigarettes health-wise. smoking it hurts you just as much as smoking a piece of paper. it's all in the smoke. there are some people that vaporize it so it's not unhealthy.
You can validly get a DUI for it. true that. i don't support driving while high.

Find any OBJECTIVE AND UNIVERSAL good that comes from it, that can be proven, not speculated, and I might think otherwise, but seeing today's stuff generation as it stands doesn't tend to give any good support to it. gang revenue goes down, "war on drugs" ends, mexico won't be as assravaged by the prime marijuana exporters, possible medical uses, some people use it for recreation and they seem to be ok, so why not?

The only speculated "good" that would come out of it is more high school dropouts, allowing for less competition to get into universities. this is dumb. nobody uses weed enough to explode their brain unless they have no self control. However, that affects everything else in that subject matter differently.  1)  School dropout count raises.  2)  Staff laid off from educational jobs.  We would be losing qualified teachers that are educating America's NEXT generation. i don't understand this paragraph.

On the flip side, what are some OBJECTIVE AND UNIVERSAL consequences of not having it legalized. thousands of people are arrested and jailed for smoking it. it costs tons of money to keep them in jail.

If cheetos were criminalized, but some people wanted to eat cheetos anyway, and they got sent to jail, where the government has to pay  for their existence until they get out of the clinker, would you call it fair? Cheetos are virtually harmless. I know that's a silly brown townogy but it's already understood how many people get sent to jail for having marijuana, and cutting the sales that gangs typically make would forget up their whole system.
