no sound support in torque
AKA it's impossible no exceptions whatsoever, no point in keeping this topic open.
Done by Port but never released.

Possible, yet may require many, many files to download.


Probably works by splitting the string into words, and then each word has a different sound file.
Have fun making enough words for this to actually be usable fit within the datablock count

I can guarentee this is how
it is echoing the individual words in the console in that video, i can see it

You cannot create a sound in torque, only PLAY THEM.

I felt it was nessescary to use every possible means of emphasis on this one.

Seriously. Just download a sound file from a Text To Speech site and play that. This would be CLIENT-SIDED, not server-sided.

That video does (replica of HL1's announcer, which also works like that), but my TTS add-on doesn't.
