Author Topic: Rampage: Ape Attack (Rampage meets Boss Battles)  (Read 1805 times)

Basically a King Kong gamemode.


Concept Image

Ape Attack would be a variant of Rampage that features one player as a raging gorilla set on destroying the city, while everyone else is trying to take that monkey down.

• Ape player is randomly selected and spawns inside the city with an amount of health relative to the number of players. (More players = more ape health)
• Everyone else will spawn as soldiers just outside of the town, armed with guns and unlimited lives.
• People who join a game already in progress spawn as harmless civilians to spectate the action, until a new round begins.
• After enough bricks are destroyed the Ape will still level up in size and strength, and regain some health. When this happens the soldier players will also receive better weapons.
• Game ends when either all bricks are destroyed, when the ape dies, or if the ape is disconnected.



If anyone wants to start working on this I would be willing to give you the above ape model. However I must animate it first.

Looks fun.
On the note of the model I find it weird how the ape has arms and legs. Surely an ape is evolved enough not to have them.

Some extra features could also work. Such as, right click to climb walls and etc.

This is an excellent idea, I really like it.

I would also be willing to make a giant biped lizard playertype for people who prefer zilla over kong.

-doesn't grow much

godzilla! yes i know he's a reptile but still
-only gains health, and stays the same size, although he's almost twice as tall as king kong

I was thinking about that too. Maybe the ape wins at 75% destruction, and anything more is bonus points. But game still ends at 100% destruction, or ape death. And if the ape dies before 75% destruction then the soldiers win, and get bonus points for the percent of the city they have saved.

You could easily package the current One Man Army (Boss Battles) gamemode to do this.
