The memory graph literally only goes down when I reboot the server. This is bad since I only have 1.5gb of available memory, and stuff is expensive, so I won't be renewing it anyway since running TFC on a rented server frankly isn't feasible.

Seriously, I could run over the memory use by getting a boat and sailing around for a few hours. The memory use never goes down - like it doesn't unload chunks at all.

I'm gonna schedule reboots every twelve hours if the server's empty and let it run until the end of the month, though.

however it took me FOREVER to find rock that could be made into an anvil

My method of creating a starting anvil is too dig out a 7 x 7 pit near my house in the dirt, then use the stone at the bottom, it then kinda becomes a hub of operations later on that I can expand on and cover over.

Anybody want to share their mining methods? I don't want to start out mining and then waste all my picks and get no ores.

good method is to find a large area of native ores, let's say, cassiterite. once you find a large radius of ores in an area (you should be marking them with cobble once you find it), go to the center of the circle and start digging a 3x3 shaft down a few layers and branch out for prospecting if you need to. once you find samples, start digging that way, up and down. the end result should be tons of metal.

normally I just go into creative, look for a good spot, and turn it off permenantly
