so relly you whant what it does for music when you join a server its a good idea but some falts could come in to fix this the host could pickwhat mods he would let ppl download....

Lua isn't inherently safe, it's a scripting language just like any other only the specific implementation in gmod makes it "safe". 

Since the gameplay in Blockland runs on the scripting engine, it's basically impossible to make it safe to download and run arbitrary scripts from random people.

yep, I was thinking about that. with alot of LUA viruses running around such as the racehooks and other things. At one point I had about 8 viruses from gmod servers that I had to manually find and delete. Also, you guys need to read the FULL post before you say anything.

Another caveat about DLing user-created scripts directly from server is that it would likely overwrite original scripts.

For instance, say you join a server and you have this suggested mod on. If the host (being an idiot) modified his jeep script to make it super-fast or something and didn't give it a new name...it would overwrite your existing files.

That is, of course, on top of all the other problems we talked about like safety, privacy and such.

For safety, if someone download something they are not sure is 100% safe, then bad luck to them

if their files are overwritten then they can get replacements from someone else.

one safety thing is for whoever to put a big sign thing, that lasts for 15 seconds before it lets you go past (but the cancel button will stay)

Gets rid of the impatient AND the handicapped that actually read the signs. And then when they complain about the viruss all we can say is "Didn't you read the warning?"

Well, this was mainly a suggestion to throw out there because this is one of the things people will complain about until it is done.

Even if it never is, and is not possible, they will complain about it.
